It was my bright idea to buy an existing knitting shop rather than try to start one from scratch. To my surprise, it proved easier than I expected, and transpired much faster than we had originally planned. Instead of a one to two year window, it ended up being a done deal in three months. I’m working on developing a lace stitch, or perhaps I should say “pattern,” based on a traditional one called Fish Scale.  Creating your own stitches/patterns is fun and exciting, but it can also be very frustrating, especially when you have to keep ripping because something has gone awry.  More on that in a moment.
